Full Circle Tattoo

thewrathofkron asked: Sorry the whole Japanese back piece. I saw in the time lapse video

Yes sir, 35 hours two months from start to finish. That back piece wont Ink N Iron’s best back and best Japanese 2009.

thewrathofkron asked: Did Bill Canales do that whole thing in one day?

The whole what in one day?

imboardin asked: I really enjoy your blog it's opened my eyes to some great tat artists out there. I wanted to know your take on getting tattoos you want that you can't make it to a specific shop like other side of the world so to speak. Is it disrespectful to the artist by getting their flash or tattoo they did by a different artist? I like a lot of stuff you post especially the american traditional stuff. But, their shops are on other ends of the world for me. I just don't have the option of traveling far.

Not at all LJ, thats why flash was invented, so it could be tattooed. No tattoo artist in their right mind would be offended if someone got something tattooed on them based on their flash (prints are a different matter) at least I hoped not. Why the fuck would you make flash if you had no intention for someone to get it tattooed.

I know some guys I would recommend for you in your area, not every artist is equipped to do every style, but yeah, hit me up on fb.

tmwiii asked: Although taking a few similar designs and some suggestions to your tattoo artist is better than straight ripping a pic off the net. Do you think will certain designs that are a staple of a genre e.g. black jaguar and wolf heads, have been done too often for each artist to have their own interpretation?

Yes and no. Remember a lot of these “staple” designs predate the artist using them today by a few generations. In fact I have a Mike Wilson Panther head on my shin, that is basically a modified elongated version of what Hardy was doing over a decade ago.

Traditionalist will argue if its not broken why try to fix it or re invent the wheel? But little things would be changed, in fact, the nature of a tattoo being put on my human hands will guarantee that no two tattoos will look alike. So why fight the inevitable? Little changes here and there to individualize the tattoo but still maintain the foundation, nothing wrong with that. I am ranting now, but here it is in a short answer. No.

By the way Gemma does other type of tattoos also, not just blackwork.

I know someone who has almost this exact tattoo, except his is only in b&w and is awful.  Maybe this is dumb to say now, but if I ever get tattoos, I’m not going to sacrifice quality for a lower price.  I’ve seen what that looks like when I could have something like this on my body forever.
